Filming, Photography & Privacy
Who we are
Infinite Vision Media Ltd (IV Media), company number 16767786, Stockton-on-Tees. We are responsible for the footage and photos we take. Contact: hello@iv-media.co.uk
Why we film
We film and photograph local events, clubs and community activities across Stockton-on-Tees and Teesside, to report on them and share them. When we film at an event, we do so with the organiser's permission.
Where footage appears
Footage and photos may be published on iv-media.co.uk, our YouTube channel @infinitevisionmediauk, and our social media channels.
Our lawful basis
For general and crowd shots, we rely on our legitimate interests in covering local events. We tell people in advance through posters and organiser notices, and anyone can opt out. For close-ups and interviews, where you are the focus, we rely on your consent.
Close-ups and interviews
We always ask before filming a close-up of you or interviewing you. If you say no, we keep you out of close-ups or blur you.
Children
We only feature under-18s in close-ups with consent from a parent or guardian, usually arranged through the club or event organiser. We never name children or share details that could identify where they live or go to school.
How long we keep footage
We keep raw (unedited) footage for up to 24 months after filming, so we can re-edit it, correct mistakes and use it in longer documentary projects. After that, we delete it securely. Published edits stay online until someone asks us to remove them. You can ask us to delete raw footage of you, or remove you from published content, at any time before then.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- blur or remove you from published content
- tell you what footage of you we hold
- delete footage of you
- stop using footage of you
To do any of these, email hello@iv-media.co.uk with the event name, the date and, if you can, a link or a description of yourself. We will act promptly and respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
On the day
Look for our camera operator in IV Media hi-vis. Tell them if you don't want to be filmed.
